Caelan was excitedly traipsing down the street. She was on her way to the Inn to work that morning. She liked her new job and she was good at it. People seemed to like her extremely chipper attitude.

Well, most people did anyway.

Some days she still got told to just shut up and mind her own business and to stop invading people's personal bubble. But what the heck was a personal bubble? She was still learning the whole human thing. Humans didn't have bubbles that she knew of. She didn't, Colbie and Ben didn't. Cotillion was too annoying to pay attention to most days.

She stopped in and grabbed a cup of hot chocolate -- her new favourite thing -- and then started to head out of the door when she spotted someone that she knew. "Oh! Oh hey hi! Do you like their coffee too? I love their hot chocolate. It tastes sooooo yummy. Do you like it? Whatcha doin' today? You should stop by the inn and see me at work!" Caelan had the worst time shutting up long enough for anyone to actually talk back.

He wasn't usually tired in the morning, but today was a day he felt like needed coffee in order to wake up and properly function. It was worth it to drag himself out and wait in line the moment he took a sip and the warmth of the coffee filled him.

It was just in time, starting to properly wake him up and make his brain function, something he needed when Caelan appeared next to him, boundless energy overflowing. A tired Duke might have drowned in it but he was ready to handle this now.

"Hey. Yeah, I think their coffee is great, I try to have it whenever I can. I might have to get some hot chocolate when it starts to feel like Christmas, though." He took another sip. He'd met the red-haired girl after a frantic call from someone staying at the inn and, of course, she was too sweet for him not to like. "Sure, I'll stop by the inn. I need a break from home, anyway. It's starting to feel awkward there."

"Oh but why wait until Christmas? Why not have some nooow?" she bounced a little as she spoke and then took a sip of her own cup as if to prove her point. Caelan glanced at the watch on her wrist that Colbie had given to her and she looked in the direction of the Inn. "Walk with me, Duke? I do not want to be late, nope, nope, nope!"

She bounced along much like the tiger in Winnie the Pooh as she chattered back at Duke. "Yes, yes, yes, come stay a day or a night and take a break!" She turned around and bounce-walked backward so that she could speak with him. "But why are things tense? What's going on? Are you unhappy? Is there anything I can do to help make you happy again!?"

He let out a chuckle. Caelan's cheer always rose his spirits, she has an infectious energy about her. "I try to wait until December before I get too festive." Duke nodded, starting in the same direction she was going. "I would be honored to walk with you. After all, someone should escort such a nice lady like you in times like these." There was no doubt that she could probably handle herself better than he could.

"You know, you'd be a good promoter for the inn," he commented, already feeling like he owed it to her to rent for a night or two. If he didn't, it would feel like he was stepping on her earnest feelings. "Oh, it's no big deal. Just the roommates. They have things they need to work out. But I'm okay, I'm just glad to get to talk to you again. It feels like forever since I last saw you!"

"Oh yes! Festive! I keep forgetting that we are meant to tell time by months and hours and minutes! I do not think that I will ever be used to this human construction of time!" She bounced a little more as she walked backward and kept turning her head to make sure that she wasn't about to bump into anyone -- that would be terrible! "Aww that is very, very kind of you!"

She tilted her head to the side and eventually fell into step beside him. "A promoter?" she questioned. She was still learning things and she wasn't sure what that was just yet. But it sounded like a good idea. She wrinkled her nose. "I know that feeling. Cotillion is a ... a ... jerk! Yes, that word. He also doesn't wear a lot of clothes." She turned her head to smile warmly at him and nodded. "it has been awhile, we should hang out much more often! I like friends, I like making friends!"
